What is a pendulum?
A pendulum is a tool that can be used to ask yes and no questions and receive answers. It is a well balance object with a cord/ string attached so that it may swing in a certain direction to give you the information you seek.
You can use it to find objects in your home, that you have lost. You can also use it if you are conflicted about a situation.

Some folks believe that their spirit guides act as the source of energy in revealing secret information. Making a Pendulum
Before I post on how to make a pendulum I do want to say: before using cleanse and charge it. So after this post I will be posting on how to cleanse and charge your pendulum.
So of course you can by beautiful pendulums. Normally they have a crystal with a point connected by a metal chain. But what if you don’t have the extra money to buy one?! Well then here you go.
There is two parts to a pendulum. You have a balanced object, and a chain/chord/string.
Balanced objects can be anything : crystals, river rocks, rings, gems.
Chord : necklaces, string, metal chain, ribbon, any type of chord.

For mine I use a ring my husband bought for our 3 year anniversary, and a necklace chain I wear that daughter bought me. I actually technically carry my pendulum everywhere I go because the ring is always on my necklace. (I can’t wear rings because my fingers swell)
Cleansing your Pendulum
With every tool you bring into your collection you want to cleanse it before use. There are many different techniques so just use the one that feels right to you.
If using crystals please be advised that some crystals can not be put into water, sun can change their color also.
* salt water bath
– some people cleanse and consecrate the water and salt before but its up to you.
– 3 pinches of salt in one cup water
– soak for couple hours to a couple days depending on how much “bad” energy there is.
* earth
– you can burry your pendulum / tool in a safe spot in the ground. Leave buried forn24 hours or more depending on what you feel is needed
*Incense
– you can simply put your pendulum through the smoke of a cleaning incense like sage. While doing so ask for the element of air to aid in cleansing it.
*Fire
– you can also cleanse it with the element of fire (candle flame) . Like with incense you ask for the element of fire to help in cleansing it while you put it through the flame.
*Running water
– place your tool in a dish/ bowl so that it won’t flow with the water, and place in an unpolluted river, creek,stream, anything that is running! Its best to try and keep it in there for a few hours.
*Moon/ Sun
– Place it in a place where they will be fully exposed to the energizing rays of the sun and moon. Even if the day is cloudy or you cannot see the moon, their rays will energize the stones as long as they are directly exposed to these elements of nature. They will normally be cleansed within 24 hours of exposure. But may take up to 48 hours
Charging your Pendulum
So when you cleanse your pendulum you are also charging it with the energies of the elements or the sun or moon. Which ever you do. But!!!! You also want to charge it with your energies.
So hold it in you hands, move it around with in your hands, if this feels right and just concentrate on you intentions. What are you seeking by using a pendulum? Invision white light swirling around it within your hands, purifying it. There is no set on time for this. When it is charged you will feel it and know.
The more you work with it the more energy will be in it. I wear mine so I get answers very quickly and easy now. But when I started it took me awhile to get distinctive answers, and it would take me several minutes for it to like kick in.
How to use your pendulum
First grasp the chain, some people use there index and thumb others wrap it around there pointer and middle finger. It doesn’t matter which way just as long as your comfortable and its stable.
When you first start to use it. Start by asking it to show you how it will respond. So.. Pendulum please show me a yes, …. Show me a No…… Show me a maybe. Each answer it should move a different way. For me yes is clockwise, no is back and forth horizontally and maybe is counter clockwise.
Then ask it questions you know the answer to. So… Is my real name Ashley? Should show you yes.
Do I have 8 cats? Should show me no.
If you want to find something. Ask for it to show you were it is. It should rotate in the direction of your missing object
Here is a photo of diagram which you can use. I personally get better result with out it but It may work wonders for someone.
Also when you first start it maybe challenging, as long as you stick with it, the more energy you will have placed in the tool, which will create better results. Also working with a crystal in it may work better for some!
